The Becoming Young Project
Part spiritual memoir, part poetic and comedic reflection Becoming Young will explore what it means to return to a childlike wonder in a world that demands us to grow up. I’ll use my own story as the backdrop for what it’s like to try to keep the faith in the face of doubts, detours, and deconstruction and how diving into the worlds of songwriting, standup comedy, visual art, poetry, film, and literature can help us reimagine what it means to connect with the person of Jesus Christ.
In a moment where there are countless stories of deconstruction, this book will examine what it’s like to build upon a strong foundation while being willing to tear down harmful beliefs or perspectives. It’s a story of sculpting, a testimony of a faithful God who endlessly chips away at the prodigal and the joy that comes from embracing an ancient, transcendent faith in a modern world.
